About
We are a secular homeschooling family in Southern California. Doo is an inquisitive, creative, social 6 year old. Mama is a SLP and Daddy is a writer. We spent the majority of 2009-2010 preschool year using Five in a Row for our curriculum. In May 2010, we transitioned to a more eclectic approach – combining Charlotte Mason and Classical Education.
Doo is a First Grader in the 2011-12 school year. Her studies include math (Math Mammoth), copywork, narration, animal study, ancient history, Spanish, science (Start Up Science) and grammar. She is taking classes such as Earth Science, Body Works, yoga, Meet the Masters and Math Games. She is an excellent reader (8th grade level as of September 2011) and loves all things science. Homeschooling has been incredibly rewarding and fulfilling for all of us. And a lot of fun.
