For Doo’s writing class (her Spanish 2 class was unfortunately canceled so she joined an older grade writing class – she’s loving it so far) she made an About Me poster. All of the images had to be nouns.

This week for our animal study we met:
From time to time I get a request for the Madeline girls we used back during our Five in a Row days. The document I have used to be online but appears to have vanished. So I went ahead and created a Google Doc of my copy and you can find the link on the right side of the blog. Hope this helps!
Doo learned about the layers of the earth for her first class today at her new learning center. She loved it (and the other two classes) and talked nonstop about them on our drive home. She will go to the learning center for a few classes a week.
Doo is signed up for many classes via the co-op we did last year and a new learning center she will go to twice a week. Weekly, she will be taking classes such as:
And that’s not even all of them. Busy girl! Homeschooling is really a misnomer since most people unfamiliar with it pictures it as school at home. Obviously some people do it that way but not us. If I didn’t work, we could easily drown in homeschool classes, field trips, park days, if we so chose to. We are really lucky to live in such a rich environment for homeschoolers!
Just sharing my two docs for our Ancient History and Science 1st grade plans. Each lesson will be for one week. Ancient History will be broken down into 4-5 days so that the lessons will be short, ala Charlotte Mason. Science will be broken down into 2 days per lesson and we are using Start Up Science as our spine.
