Just seem to never find time to blog these days.
We are doing well in general although suffered a family member loss a couple of weeks ago. It was a sad trip back to my hometown but the positive side was that Doo got to hang out with her cousins, see my hometown, and have a quick visit to Boston. We had two weeks of light lessons (just history, animal study, and science) but are now back to usual.
Doo started a new dance class yesterday. She hasn’t taken one in two years. She’s now in a Jazz class and really enjoyed the first one.

Just a few photos from Doo and Daddy’s weekend visit to the Huntington Library. They mainly went for the Chinese New Year festivities but also explored for a while as well.

We hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. At some point in life I will do my best to catch up here. Either later this week or right after Christmas!
Happy holidays!

We had a great weekend with a fun visit from Uncle D from Maine. That brought us to San Diego for a quick trip. While Daddy cheered the Pats to a win with Maine family, Doo and I headed to the San Diego Zoo.
Once we entered, Doo shouted “Jan Brett, Mommy!!!!” It turned out that Jan Brett was there to sign books and give a little presentation. I have been a huge fan of hers since starting my career as a SLP. I have used her books during therapy throughout the years, gifted them to my nieces, and then my daughter. So this was a huge treat.

Doo met Hedgie the Hedgehog and then we listened to Jan’s story about traveling to Africa and how she was inspired to write her new book. She even drew a “rock dassie” (aka, Rock Hyrax) which was quite amazing to watch. Finally, we were able to meet her, she had a little conversation with Doo, and we got some photos.

A sweet, little Rock Hyrax from the zoo.

And now some zoo photos. We found the Rock Hyrax area plus saw Doo’s favorite, the zebra. Although we both agreed the coolest part was having the jaguar pace right in front of her several times. Such a beautiful animal.

At Doo’s childcare center yesterday they had a cellist come in. She was the first to correctly identify the cello and, today, she explained to Daddy how to use a cello by using a slice of bacon and a fork.
